This magazine cover has been stereotypically made to present how to “be a man”. It’s shown that how to be a man you should have muscles. ‘The Rock’ being the person in the magazine presents him to be the role-model of how a man should be/act. Giving young children or even adults the idea of how they “should be”. The fonts used really make the idea that they’re trying to give out pop a lot more especially with the different colours they’ve decided to use and also the punctuation at the end of some lines. For example “Man Up!” is the example that gives off the idea massively of how you should be acting to be a ‘man’.
What is it suggesting it means to 'be a man', looking at the cover lines?

Exam question
Explore how this font cover of GQ magazine uses media language to communicate meanings.
-images
-text/written language
-layout and design
The GQ magazine cover of Raheem Sterling (RS) uses media language to communicate meanings by the image for example, in the image RS is wearing wings. This could of have been done to symbolise that he is a professional footballer and he plays as the winger. Also, the main image represents that he's a guardian angel but in stereotypes angels are always white. GQ has made it black to purposely recognise the racism that black people have to deal with. Including RS who has dealt with the racism which he has spoke up about with a statement on social media after his football match against chelsea when he played for man city in 2018. The audience is appealed because it represents that RS is standing up towards the racism he has experienced.
The GQ magazine cover of RS uses media language to communicate meanings by the fonts on the text. GQ decided to use a gold colour as this could be represented as leadership. The colour gold is a strong bold colour. The gold stands out but it also stands out as they've decided to use the colour on the main cover line and the logo.

Malala Yousafzai
Vogue is aimed at ABC1 fashion and style conscious women who are educated, sophisticated and wealthy.
Whilst it traditionally targeted an older female audience of 30-45 year olds, you could say that this audience has now broadened to appeal to inspire and enpower younger readers too, as well as a much more culturally diverse audience.
Historically in magazines like vogue anyone other than white people like black and asian were underrepresented until around 2017.
The magazines are represented differently. The Harry Styles magazine is antistereotypical as the vogue platform is a womens fashion magazine covers.

Malala is a pakistan female activist who represents her life story and she was the worlds youngest noble prize laureate. Malala was shot in the head at the age of 15 by the taliban. She stands for girls right and the right for an education. I think she's been chosen to be on the vogue cover because she is a very strong bold person.
